Episode 54: Courageous in Calling - Part 1
Beginning a new collection of talks, Lance reminds us of the simple fact that we were born for a purpose and a calling. Calling upon the fact that our purpose begins with a knowledge of God, Lance highlights a few scriptures to reinforce that we are not cosmic accidents, but ambassadors of a heavenly kingdom here to make society better through our purpose and calling.

Notes:
You were born for a purpose.
Mark Twain says, “The two greatest days of your life are the day you were born and the day you learn why.”
You have a purpose.
To know this purpose, know God.
To fulfill this purpose, be trusting (know God).
To fulfill this purpose, be courageous.
To fulfill this purpose, be competent.
To fulfill this purpose, know what season you’re in.
As one pastor said, “Learning begins at the place of application.”
Remember, as a leader….
You teach what you know, you reproduce who you are.
You can’t give what you don’t have.
You can’t take people where you haven’t been.
Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans [purpose] I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” NIV
John 14:12 ““I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” NLT
John 20:21, “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” NLT
John 6:29 ““This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” NLT
Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” NIV
God’s purpose is to form Christ in you and to demonstrate Christ through you.
Application:
Believe you have a calling.
Declare, out loud, to yourself, each day, that you were made for a special calling.
Discover your passions, talents, skills, opportunities.
Volunteer in an area that is in alignment with your calling.
Let things happen naturally.
