Lance wraps up this podcast with a simple idea that you can implement so you can move pinnacle leadership from a grand idea into the realm of daily possibility.

5. Pinnacle Stage - (Respect)

  1. You are marked by loyal and sacrificial leaders you have developed.

    • To be marked is to have your heart shaped by those around you.

    • Loyalty is a hallmark of pinnacle leadership because people are willing to defend your character and celebrate your humility.

  2. You have spent years mentoring, coaching and developing leaders.

    • Keep remembering that this stage of leadership takes years to achieve.

    • Pinnacle leadership needs perseverance, determination, belief and resolve.

  3. You are sought by others to help build culture and train.

    • Systemize what you have learnt.

    • Create and clarify so your teaching is easier to adopt.

    • Keep learning.

  4. Your greatest joy comes from watching others grow and develop.

    • The mark you leave on this world will not be what you have built, but who you have developed.

Seven Factors to Becoming a Pinnacle Leader:

  1. Remain in the secret place of being loved and loving others.

  2. Foster a lifestyle of generosity.

  3. Love like a father/mother.

  4. Speak up like a colleague.

  5. Work hard.

  6. Have fun.

  7. Celebrate progress.

A point of application:

  • Spend two, one-hour a month with the top influencers, individually, building a relationship.

  • Spend 15-20 minutes talking about personal matters such as sports, hobbies, families, kids, what you did over the weekend, etc.

  • Spend 25-30 minutes asking and answering questions about what is being celebrated, what are they learning, how are they investing in others and in what areas of their life do they want to intentionally grow and develop.

  • Spend 5-10 minutes establishing an action step/goal that is specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-specific.
