In 1 Corinthians 9:19-27, Paul uses an athletic metaphor to inspire us to live a disciplined life; not to get God's attention, but so that we may not lose that which has apprehended us. God has given us a foretaste of an increase of His presence, therefore we want to live in such a way as to be marked by a great move of God.
