political pundit thought
this is a short and sweet thought. i am up early listening to the talking heads discuss Sarah Palin's interview with Charles Gibson. here is what i notice. democrats listen through one grid and republicans listen through a different one. i think the art of listening is lost in politics. i get frustrated when you can tell which side of the political aisle one sits based upon the way they listen, or better yet through what grid they listen. the leadership challenge for me today is to make sure i demonstrate leadership through authentic listening, listening not based upon ones ideaology, but based upons one's love for peole, country, etc. i have thoughts and ideas that i want to communicate, but if people are like me, they don't want to hear what i have to say as much as they want me to listen to them. it's aggravating to look at the so-called experts "talk, talk, talk, talk" yet rarely listen.
